With Bronsart Road the team had to start again and after the demolition stage the only things remaining were three of the four original walls to the building.
After digging down as far as possible to gain ceiling height, everything was completely rebuilt floor by floor. New chimneys were installed alongside a large rear extension and loft conversation. A terrace was added on the top floor to create a wonderful outside space to the bespoke office area.
On top of the huge refurbishment to the main house we have also had the pleasure to be able to design and build our clients neighbouring property: an old plumbing warehouse. The space has now turned into a stunning office space with an industrial feel and become Empire's new home.
Working for a discerning private client, Empire remodeled this imposing, double-fronted, Victorian town house into a light, spacious and warm home.
Adding a spa-area within the lower ground floors, consisting of a Klaus German sauna and bespoke Bisazza clad spa pool, the level of detail achieved in this house was second to none. Bleached oak wide plank timber flooring throughout, along with custom blended Venetian plaster walls and a custom Bulthaup kitchen, transformed the property into a truly exceptional home.
Campden Hill Court
Every part of this third floor lateral apartment was taken all the way back to the brick. This was to achieve the client's brief of an exceptional quality of build. Every floor and wall was made level to millimetre precision, every window stripped back to the wood, filled and decorated to near perfection.
Bespoke wardrobes were crafted and then hand painted by a team of artists to create a finish and depth of colour, which added drama in every room. The bathroom's mosaic marble walls were fitted then meticulously hand polished to ensure uniform perfection.
The level of detail that went into creating the finishes in this apartment might seem high to some, but our brief was clear and it was a pleasure to be involved in a project to such exacting standards and be able to achieve them for our client.
This house, in its envious position overlooking Queens Park, boasted the ideal framework of a family home. It needed ground-up reconfiguring with two large extensions at the rear to create a huge open plan kitchen, dining and reception room as well as a beautiful winter garden.
The two grand front reception rooms were divided by way of a restored vintage Victorian set of bi-fold doors to create a cosy library and formal sitting room. The installation of two matching open fireplaces places added the final touches to these very well thought out rooms.
Upstairs a bedroom was turned into an office and snug room with the addition of a wood burning stove which turned it into a great place to read and work. We transformed the two front bedrooms into a large master suite; with beautiful dark oak floors, walk-in wardrobes and an en-suite with a roll top bath and double his and hers showers.
Given an incredibly short time period to fit in such a large scope of works, programme management was the most important factor to this project.
A full demonstration of the existing space, rebuild and furniture set up ready to re-home the extremely hardworking team at Storm needed to be completed in six weeks.
In addition we had curved glass, bespoke joinery items and a poured concrete floor to take into account. Every hour was managed to the upmost degree, with teams being brought in back to back to achieve this truly stunning office space.
Zheng themed restaurant in Chelsea pays homage to the Malaysian spirit of openness and innovation. Empire’s task was to create a space that embodied their brand. Over the two floors bespoke kitchens were installed alongside a state-of-the-art ventilation system.
Being a grade two listed building, a lot of care was needed to preserve the fabric of the building, as well as creating a modern and sleek environment to dine in. With luxury, hand-painted wallpapers and luscious fabrics used on all of the bespoke custom seating, the space has become a stunning example of what can be achieved when great design meets exceptional build quality.
